Because, I am a geek, and proud of it. Let me talk your ear off about my love for Martha Wells, and how we used to do things in the old days, when I was young, and there was no internet and only weirdos went to cons. Before Cosplay was called cosplay… Ah, those were the days.
Anyway, it’s been a while since I’ve been out of the house and I did not want to miss a chance to take a train ride to Seattle.
Here are the places I’m scheduled to be, so far. Locations TBD.
Table Talk
Wed 8/13 3:00pm-4:00pm
Room 430
Your chance to sit and chat with me. They used to call these Koffee Klatches, back in the day, and I used to geek out on Terry Pratchett and went to his whenever I could.
Centuries of Marriage
Thu 8/14 9:00am-10:00am
Marriage has been around for thousands of years. How has it changed in that time? What has it looked like in different cultures? We are looking for historical discussions of marriage, not current events.
Autographs
Fri 8/15 10:30am-11:30am
Garden Lounge (3F
Don’t be surprised if I have some free romances, hiding under the table. At the very least, I might get to sit next to someone cool. When Worldcon was in Denver, they put me next to Lois McMaster Bujold. I looked at her with puppy eyes and said, “This is the best day of my life.”
She had a miserable cold and looked at me like she wanted to call security, or perhaps just die.
The Tea on Afternoon Tea
Sat 8/16 6:00pm-7:00pm
Room 420-422
Afternoon tea is a staple of many a romantic novel, striking adventure, and delightful gossip session but so little do we get to gossip about the Afternoon Tea itself. Join us as we discuss what makes a perfect pastry, a salivating sarnie, and a captivating cuppa. Know what to look for and what to avoid as you partake in the most British of pastimes.
